![]() ![]() In The Last Jedi, Poe Dameron leads Red, Blue, Crimson, and Cobalt Squadrons against the First Order Dreadnaught Fulminatrix. If you’re not familiar with the difference between “strategy” and “tactics,” I can illustrate with a Star Wars example. I don’t mean to put unrealistic expectations on myself or others to “git gud” but I’m happy that these matches provide an opportunity to talk about different levels of planning and success. Rather, choices I made during “turn 0” and turn 1 about how to approach the opponent’s list with my list ended up shaping the game. ![]() I didn’t lose because of bad rolls, or by dialing poor maneuvers when we were fully engaged. Two recent games of mine ended in defeat, but not ignominious defeat. Fortunately, one of the reasons I’ve not been writing a lot about X-Wing is because I’ve been playing a lot of X-Wing!
